Description:

Commercial Greenhouse Crop Production details the propagation, cultural and environmental requirements of the major commercial crops in the greenhouse floriculture and vegetable industry. The principles of photoperiod, breaking dormancy and graphical tracking, as they relate to certain crops, will be studied.

The major crops discussed include; roses, alstroemeria, chrysanthemums, poinsettia and Easter lilies, gerbera, mini roses, bedding plants, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. By the end of the course you should be able to not only define the cultural requirements of specific crops, but also be able to apply general production principles to other crops.

Nursery and greenhouse personnel interested in effectively growing healthy crops while generating financial return.
