This course focuses on the study of the physical properties and uses of landscape construction materials. The ‘how to’ of landscape construction is described and illustrated in detail. Site design and landscape construction techniques are interdependent. The characteristics and methods of installation and resulting maintenance requirements of particular materials often have significant design implications. These implications include durability, load bearing capacity and associated construction costs.
Home gardeners and landscape practitioners looking for insight into the construction practices of residential landscapes.
To facilitate the understanding of the principles necessary for the design and construction of functional and build-able landscapes that are also aesthetically pleasing.
